Meet Trenise

TRENISE is a Jamaican-American storyteller passionate about making reading feel fun! When she was in third grade, her teacher said she should write books when she grew up—and Mrs. Buckner must’ve been clairvoyant because here we are! Writing books! Wonder and imagination are at the heart of her stories and she loves creating worlds where children can get lost between the pages and find themselves along the way.

Football Fanatic

Prior to writing children’s books, Trenise was a college football writer, and is a die-hard USC Trojans fan. Fight On SC!

Language Learner

During the pandemic, Trenise started learning French on Duolingo, just for funsies! She’s very proud of the 1600+ day streak that currently controls her life.

Disney Diva

Trenise is a former Disneyland and Disney World cast member and strongly believes that Hercules is a criminally underrated Disney film.

Animal Aficionado

Trenise loves zoos and animal science and has power-ranked several species of animals, including owls, primates, lizards, sharks, snakes, wild cats, waterfowl, aquatic mammals, freshwater fish, amphibians, and ungulates (which are large mammals with hooves, if you didn’t know!).
